The Russian town of Balaschejka is located in the Volga region. The industrial companies based there have always been economically geared to the longest and most water-abundant river in Europe. The silica sands mined there are used above all in foundries. Practically all large car makers and machinery manufacturers in the country have long been counted among the regular customers of this first-class site. The plant in Balaschejka has belonged to the Quarzwerke Group since 2006.
