The town of Hohenbocka is located in the rural district of Oberspreewald-Lausitz in the German state of Brandenburg. The silica sands formed there in the late Miocene epoch have been mined for about 120 years and have also made this site a major industrial player internationally. The raw materials have also always found grateful customers in the glass and foundry industries.
