The production of glass fibres is a perfect area of application for our high-grade silica sands. The glass fibres are formed by drawing thin strings out of a glass melt and by processing them into a multitude of end products. Nowadays, the glass fibres formed in this way are one of the most important construction materials, because they are resistant to aging, weathering, chemicals and they are non-combustible. Glass fibres also help to immensely improve the mechanical properties of plastics.

Glass wool— the perfect insulating material

Our premium raw materials are also used for the manufacture of glass wool—even though up to 70% of the glass used to manufacture the product consists of recycled glass. Glass wool is valued as a non-combustible insulating material for the thermal insulation of houses. In industry, glass wool is used in particular for soundproofing and fire protection, encasing tanks, containers, heating boilers and turbines. You can also benefit from our premium silica sands for the production of glass wool. Please contact us for a no-obligation quotation!
