Kaolin: Fine-grain fillers that also add reinforcement

Kaolin is a natural raw material that is refined into an industrial raw material with the help of extensive processing steps. Wet-mechanical processing is used to separate the kaolin from trace minerals. This is done through the classification of various grain sizes with the help of washing drums, cyclone cascades and centrifuges, followed by dewatering by means of sedimentation, filtration and drying. Some kaolin products are also further refined using bleaches and a magnetic separator.
