Aluminium trihydrate is manufactured from bauxite using the Bayer process. The primary characteristics of aluminium hydroxide are its flame retardant qualities, its high degree of whiteness and its low hardness. It dehydrates at temperatures above 200°C.
Features
• High degree of whiteness (Y > 94)
• Low hardness 3
• Density 2.4 g/cm3
• Thermal expansion coefficient of 15*10-6K-1 (at temperatures of 20-300°C)
• Chemically inert
• Flame retardant
Key applications
• Boiling water resistent sanitary ware made of PMMA
• Epoxy casting resin
