KiZPPS Osiecznica plant
The silica sand mine KiZPPS Osiecznica has been part of the Quarzwerke Group since 1995. Following a comprehensive investment program, the plant is now one of Europe’s most modern extraction and processing facilities for silica sand.
The silica sand of the Osiecznica deposit was formed about 100 million years ago (Upper Cretaceous) when fine-to-medium-size grains were eroded into the shallow water near the coastline. The sand’s extraordinary purity makes it a rare and highly coveted raw material.
